Submission process to get published in Qwani (General submission guidelines for the blog)
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What is your usual response time after receiving a submission?
- After acknowledging the receipt of the submission, we take a period of 4-6 weeks to get back to you on our final decision. We ask for your patience.
2. Do you acknowledge the receipt of submissions?
- Yes. Within a day or two, we will acknowledge the receipt of your submission. Therefore, a lack of communication from us on the same means we did not receive it.
3. Is there a lower/upper word limit for submissions?
- For works written in prose, we accept pieces having between 500-4000 words. Pieces of less than 1000 words should be labeled as flash fiction.
- For poetry, there is a line limit of 100. No lower limit. Haikus are allowed (a minimum of 3).
4. What of the writers’ rights to their works?
- Writers retain the rights to the work. We will not claim ownership of any part or whole of the published pieces.
5. Will there be any royalties paid to the writers?
- No. Owing to the fact that we still raise the funds to print the books from our own pockets, we have not be able to sustain payment of royalties to all the writers for blog content. However, it is something we are really hoping for in the near future.
